Sue and John moved to Sherborne in July 2008 after running The Somerset Hotel in Weymouth. They come from professional backgrounds but have been in "the trade" a few years now. The Brit needed some TLC, which they have applied to create that welcoming feeling to their customers, local and visitors alike. They were able to launch their B&B offering from Easter 2009 having completely refurbished the rooms, shown below. To complement the good beers and quality rooms, they offer food every day except Wednesday ranging from quick bites to more substantial meals.
Our Rooms
Our rooms were refurbished in April 2009 and using our experience from our previous business we believe we have prepared the rooms to a standard which you will
appreciate when you stay with us. The rooms have their own character and we believe you will find them comfortable whether you are staying one night or more.
All rooms offer tea & coffee making facilities, digital flat screen TV's with Freeview, luggage rack and complimentary toiletries. An hairdryer and iron and ironing board can be provided on request.
Double Room
En suite facilities. Room rate £80 per night including full English breakfast
Family Room
En suite facilities. This room can be used by a family or adults. The two single beds are full size 3ft singles and allow twin occupancy of the room at £40 a person per night including breakfast. Alternatively the room can be let as double occupancy only, attracting a rate of £40 per person including breakfast.
Room rate for family use is £120 per night for two adults and two children or £40 per adult when occupied by 3 or 4 adults. Again a full English breakfast is included.
Single Room
Use of private shower/ toilet facilities next to bedroom which is are not shared with other rooms.
Room rate is £35 per night including full English breakfast.
Should longer stays of more than two nights be requested, the room rates of all rooms can be reduced to reflect this.

We request a 50% deposit for the room to reserve your room for which we will confirm your reservation in writing and confirmation of your deposit as well as a map to assist you in finding the Britannia Inn. We welcome most credit cards and will accept a cheque, allowing it to clear before room reservation is confirmed.

Travelling:
If travelling by car the pub is found off Half Moon Street and is on the right hand side of Westbury, 50 yards down from the junction with Half Moon Street.
By rail, Sherborne is served by trains from London Waterloo through Salisbury to the West country. We are 5 minutes walk from the station. Leave the station and bear left up Digby Road for 400 yards. Turn left onto Cooks Lane, a short road, that brings you to a "T" junction where you find The Brit opposite.
A regular bus service runs from Dorchester and Yeovil to Sherborne.
